The Story Of Us

A young girl from the desert moved to the west coast to pursue a degree in marine biology. She had always felt called to the water but didn’t really know why. It was in that college town that she met a young man from East Texas traveling for work. Their relationship grew over the next few years. They eventually tied the knot but not on the west coast, or in the desert or even east Texas, but on the sandy shore of Corpus Christi, not knowing a decade later they would return.

Their time on the Oregon coast deepened their love for the water and for sailing, but their dedication to family took them back to the desert. It was in the desert that God showed them why they were drawn to the water and how He would use those desires to bring honor and glory to Him. During their desert wandering they took their first mission trip and knew it was the beginning of something more. They purchased a sailboat from East Texas and towed it back to the desert where they weekend sailed on a nearby lake.

God began to paint a picture of a life on the water using boats to share His love, serve others, and spread the good news of the gospel. They didn’t know how or when or even the details but knew they needed water. They returned to Corpus Christi not knowing that recently a sailboat missionary organization had launched there and had been praying for people who loved the Lord and boats! Yes Lord, YES!

Our family of four continues to work in full time missions, training disciples to be sailors to take the gospel into the hard to reach isolated coastal regions of the world. This is where you enter our story.
